Nick Tomczyk is entering his second season as head hockey coach for Stevenson.  He took over the team in October 2004 after the team's inaugural season (2003-2004).  In the teams first year of existence the Titans finished with a 2-20-2 record.

Tomczyk had guided the team to its first ever winning season with an
11-9-4 overall record and a 6-5-3 record in conference finishing 4th in the MAC white.  In his first year as head coach has helped two players become all-MAC white, and also one all-MAC honoree`

For the summer of 2004, Tomczyk was an assistant hockey coach with the Anchor Bay Tars.  His duties were planning summer practices along with setting up a weight training program for off-ice.

Tomczyk served four years with Northern Michigan University's hockey team as the equipment manager.  His duties were analyzing video, help with practices, and maintaining equipment/repairs for players to excel at the division I level.  He played in one collegiate hockey game for Northern Michigan's DII team.  In that game he scored the game winning goal against Lake Superior State University.

Tomczyk's final year of college he served as the student assistant to the athletic director.  He was responsible for game promotions, managing student employees, supervising game operations for all sporting events, and facilities management.

Tomczyk graduated from NMU in 2004 with a dual bachelor's degree in physical education and health education.  He is now a teacher for Utica Center for Applied Learning (UCAL) an alternative education school.


Tomczyk, Born April 3, 1981, in Detroit, Michigan currently lives in Clinton Township, MI.  He is engaged to Kristi Vandeberghe, who plays for Oakland University's women's soccer team, are getting married in May '06.
